Finding The Right Bra Size

justmysize.com (Sara Lee Direct) According to a study by Wacoal, a bra company, 8 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong bra size. An incorrectly sized bra can cause problems such as back pain, breast pain, arm pain, rashes, and headaches. The experts are here to ease the suffering and help you finally find the perfect size for you.

Here are steps on how to measure for a bra:
• To get the most accurate measurement, you should have a bra on while you are trying to size yourself.
• For the bottom measurement, the tape should sit right under the bra cup on the lower edge of the bra. It might be hard to do this yourself, so enlist a friend to help you. If you have a larger chest, you should have someone hold the straps up and tight to get the best measurement.
• To the bottom measurement, add 5” if the number is odd and 6” if the number is even. This will give you the base bra size (The bra number: 32, 34, etc.)
• Next, measure the fullest part of your bust. The tape measure should not be pulled tight. It is best not to wear a padded bra for this because it will add inches, which will throw off the measurement.
• The difference between the two measurements will determine the cup size. 1' difference = A cup, 2” difference = B cup, 3”difference = C cup etc.

If a bra fits well, you should fill out the cups. Go a size smaller if you don’t fill them out enough or go a size larger if you are falling out of the cup. The center panel should lay flat against your breastbone, if it doesn’t it is a sign that the size is too big or small. The straps should be comfortable and stay put on your shoulders. The back of the bra shouldn’t be riding up your back, it should stay put for support.

Also, it is recommended that you get professionally fitted for a bra once a year. You should also get fitted if you gained 5-7 pounds, just gave birth or are pregnant, and stopped or started an exercise routine because your bra size will have changed.

So take a few minutes out of your busy day to go get fitted. Your clothes will fit better than they ever have before.
