Incubus Enjoying Outside Projects
Incubus is taking some time for themselves after a successful run promoting the "Light Grenades" album. Guitarist Mike Einziger is the first up with a new project. As previously reported, the musician spent some time while healing from an injury working on a classical music composition. Billboard.com reports that he will now unveil that piece during an August 23rd concert at UCLA's Royce Hall. Singer Brandon Boyd says that unlike the guitarist's Time Lapse Consortium, Einziger's bandmates will step aside and just watch his performance. Boyd says that Einziger is planning on enrolling in music composition classes this next year, and he's also returning to school to take a university art program. Meanwhile, drummer Jose Pasillas is preparing for fatherhood. The vocalist says this will likely be a lengthy break before the band returns with a new album. He adds, quote, "I'm of the mind to say it wouldn't be a bad thing to disappear for a year or two years. A lot of people would say culture moves too fast and you need to remind people, but I would argue that there's not any rush. Maybe there'll be a sex scandal or an arrest or something to keep us in the news."
