Rolling Stone Ron Wood Reportedly Getting Divorced
Despite apparent efforts to salvage his marriage, it looks like Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood is getting a divorce. Britain's "Daily Mail" says the veteran rocker and his estranged wife, Jo, met with lawyers last week to begin working out a settlement. Jo is said to be seeking half of Wood's fortune of nearly 176-million-dollars, along with an additional 20-percent as compensation for her efforts over the decades serving as his stylist, personal management assistant, co-director of his music company, and secretary of his painting business. The couple's assets include a 21-million-dollar mansion and a cottage worth nearly 440-thousand-dollars in England and a castle in Ireland that's worth nearly eight-million-dollars.
Wood and Jo became a couple in the 1970s, but didn't formally tie the knot until 1985. They have two adult children together. The rocker put his marriage in jeopardy over the summer with a ten-day drinking binge during which he isolated himself at their Irish home with Ekaterina Ivanova, a Russian waitress more than 40 years his junior that he met a few months earlier. Wood ended the bender with a six-week stint in rehab, which included counselling with Jo. But after leaving rehab Wood reportedly wanted to continue his relationship with Ivanova, which prompted Jo to formally file for divorce last month. |
