Aretha Franklin's Musical Holiday Season
Aretha Franklin's first-ever holiday album is now out. On "This Christmas Aretha," the Queen of Soul offers her renditions of such classics as "Silent Night," "Angels We Have Heard on High," and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." Other tunes on the eleven-track set, available exclusively from Borders and Waldenbooks outlets, include "My Grown-Up Christmas List," "Ave Maria," and the title cut. Franklin will be promoting the project with a number of TV appearances in the coming weeks. She'll be on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday, and she's slated to be a presenter for ABC's American Music Awards on November 23rd. Aretha is scheduled to perform on the syndicated "Live with Regis and Kelly" on December 3rd. The following day she'll ring The Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange before performing at the NYSE's Christmas tree lighting ceremony. While in the Big Apple, Franklin will also tape a three-song set for NBC's "Today," which will air on the morning show's Christmas Day broadcast. |
