Clint Black Suing Manager
Clint Black is not pleased with his manager-accountant. According to Nashville's "The City Paper," the singer is suing his rep, Charles Sussman, accusing him of financial mismanagement. In his complaint, Black claims Sussman and his firm, quote, "repeatedly engaged in self-dealing, negligence, and/or gross negligence" when it came to money matters. Black also says that on Sussman's recommendation he's given financial support to the independent label Equity Records, a company in which they both have a minor stake. Black says that while he was persuaded to take financial risks for the company, Sussman was receiving regular payments from the label. He further alleges that Sussman lied to him about Equity's roster, and that he was told the label had a long-term deal with rising act Little Big Town when the group was actually no longer under contract with Equity. The damages Black is seeking in the suit have not been revealed.
