Tom Jones Turns Street Performer For Charity
Tom Jones has no problem attracting a crowd. NME.com says the veteran pop singer took a new approach to fundraising Wednesday, giving a street performance in front of London's Royal Festival Hall. Backed by an acoustic guitar, Jones treated onlookers to an eleven-song set that included his hits "It's Not Unusual," "Green, Green Grass of Home," and his most recent single, "If He Should Ever Leave You" while buckets were passed to collect donations. Before starting his sidewalk show, Jones told the crowd, quote, "We're going to do some '50s rock 'n' roll songs and a couple of my own just to get the flavor. This is an acoustic afternoon -- and I hope we make a lot of money for Cancer Research." The performance, which was filmed for a BBC show, brought in nearly 700-dollars for the Cancer Research Charity.
