Live Earth India Cancelled
Live Earth India won't be staged as originally planned. Former Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters was slated to be one of the headliners for the event, which was scrapped in the wake of last week's deadly terrorist attacks in Mumbai, in which nearly 200 people were killed. Live Earth organizers Kevin Wall and Al Gore say in a joint statement released to "Access Hollywood" that they are "saddened" to have to cancel the concert. They note they have always felt safe and welcome in Mumbai, and send their prayers to the victims' families. The concert, scheduled to take place December 7th, would have also featured performances from Bon Jovi and will.i.am, among others. Wall and Gore add in their statement that they will continue to work for solutions to the climate crisis for the good of people in India and around the world. |
