Shins' Mercer Makes Jump To Acting
The Shins frontman James Mercer is the latest musician to make the jump to the big screen. The vocalist will play the lead role in the Matt McCormick-directed flick "Some Days Are Better Than Others." McCormick previously worked with the band on their videos for "Australia" and "The Past And Pending." The director tells Pitchforkmedia.com, quote, "With James, the character he plays is in many ways an extension of the character I created for him in The Shins' 'The Past And Pending' video I did a while back. While writing the script, James sort of became this character by default." The film will be released next fall. |
