Trujillo A Team Player
Bassist Robert Trujillo is enjoying his steady climb to the top of the rock scene. Trujillo first was noticed for his killer bass lines for Suicidal Tendencies. He later spent time in Ozzy Osbourne's band, and is now approaching a half-decade with Metallica. Trujillo tells "The Vancouver Province" that the secret to it all is learning to cater to those he's with. He says, quote, "With Ozzy, with Suicidal Tendencies, we had interesting personalities. It's a part of being on a team so to speak. It's probably no different than being on a baseball team or a football team. You've just got to know how to work with people and keep it together because everybody's different." The bassist says he and Kirk Hammett are both good at diffusing situations between headstrong band members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, and everyone in Metallica knows his role.
