Ron Wood Says The Faces On Track For Reunion Tour
Ron Wood says The Faces reunion is, quote, "ready to go." The guitarist tells "Rolling Stone" that the band's recent rehearsals were "fantastic," noting, quote, "It's like no time has passed by." He adds that the band, which also features singer Rod Stewart, keyboardist Ian McLagan, and drummer Kenney Jones, is planning to go on tour next year. No dates have been announced as yet. Wood explains, quote, "We just have to sort out when and where and drop all of the management egos and just do what we can." He adds, "It's just a matter of getting everyone's availability sometime next year." The rocker also hints that a studio project could develop from the reunion, noting, quote, "Rod wants me to write a load of new stuff for him."
The Faces broke up in 1975, with Stewart launching a solo career and Wood joining the Rolling Stones. Over the years there have been several one-off near-reunions, but the band's surviving members have never officially reteamed. Last month Wood, Stewart, McLagan, and Jones got together to explore the possibility of reviving the band. Stewart's touring bassist, Conrad Korsch, filled in for the late Ronnie Lane. |
