Britney Spears Officially Comes Back Today
Today is a big day for Britney Spears. The pop princess takes the stage on ABC's "Good Morning America" to perform a song from her new album "Circus" which hits stores today. The show marks Britney's first live U.S. performance since a less-than-enthusiastic act at last year's MTV Video Music Awards. Her lacking rendition of "Piece of Me" from her 2007 album "Blackout" was received with much criticism for her slow dance movements and lip-syncing.
A flurry of negative press followed Britney from there, as she underwent psychiatric therapy and lost custody of her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline. In recent months, the singer has worked to get back into the music circle by working on "Circus" and creating a new documentary that debuted on MTV Sunday night. In "Britney: For the Record," the singer stressed how she is trying to be a happy person despite all the mistakes she may have made in the past.
Britney also took home three awards at this year's VMAs, including the big honor of "Video of the Year" for "Piece of Me." Today, Britney will be singing "Womanizer," her first release from "Circus." She will also celebrate her 27th birthday along with viewers at home. Tune in to ABC's "Good Morning America" today at 7 a.m. Eastern to catch Britney's much-talked about "comeback" performance. |
