Kid Rock Denied
Kid Rock is ready to make the most out of his community service for last year's tussle at a Waffle House, but the singer's proposed idea of service doesn't mirror that of the judge issuing his sentence. RollingStone.com reports that as part of his sentence of 80 hours of community service the singer suggested he join soldiers in Iraq, performing and doing meet-and-greets. However, judge Alvin T. Wong did not approve of the offer, adding, quote, "Giving him credit for something he would otherwise love to do in front of a camera completely defeats the punitive purpose of performing community service." Rock says via his blog, quote, "I figured I would use the opportunity to turn a negative into a positive. Apparently he thinks it's more important that I do something else rather than sing, shake hands, take pictures and spend time with the men and women who put themselves in harm's way to protect the very freedoms he and all of us live by. I really take it as a slap in the face."
>Nickelback Back Tracks
Nickelback's new album "Dark Horse" is now in stores. But if you want to take a step into the past you can also pick up the "Nickelback: Live At Sturgis" DVD, hitting stores today. While the band is happy with the final product, Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake understand that there's not enough room for every track on the DVD.
Nickelback's new home video does feature live footage, a behind the scenes featurette, and the popular "Rock Star" video. |
