"Britney: For The Record" Boosts MTV's Sunday Ratings
Britney Spears' 90-minute documentary was an overall success for MTV. According to E! News, "Britney: For The Record" averaged three-point-seven-million viewers, which is more than MTV normally attracts on a Sunday night. Nielsen ratings indicate that the special earned triple-digit gains in demographics that are key for MTV. While the documentary outperformed MTV's marquee show "The Hills," it did fail to draw a bigger audience than recent Britney Spears' appearances on the network. The three-point-seven-million viewers were considerably less than the seven-point-one-million for the 2007 VMAs or the eight-point-four-million for the '08 awards. |
